That storm REALLY affected many areas here in Iowa.
Trees are down, batteries are running out, no one has candles…what is there to do? Here are a few suggestions!
- If you have a chainsaw, help with small debris…leave the BIG stuff to professionals ESPECIALLY if it’s ANYWHERE NEAR a power line.
- Cell phones need charging, if you have a portable charging brick…those are very helpful.
- If you have cell service, utilize the Wi-Fi Hotspot option, and if people need internet connectivity….offer to set it up.
- If you have a trailer, hauling debris is a great help!
- If you live in Linn County (the hardest hit), head up to the Cedar Valley where there is power to purchase your needs. There is a Fleet Farm, Blains, HyVee, Barnes & Noble, PetSmart, Wal-Mart, etc…..get what you need.
- Carry cash if you can, many card reader are down or do not work.
