Super Nintendo is the best gaming console ever created…it has the best games, best controller, and just holds up like no other game console out there. Fight me…
29 years ago though, this console was released and I still love it as much as I did back then. When someone asks me what some of my favorite video games are, most of them are from the Super Nintendo era. Games like Mega Man X, Super Metroid, Super Mario World (best Mario game ever…), Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3, Super Star Wars, Super Mario RPG, just ughhhhh it’s SO GOOD!
I remember the DAY we got ours…my father took my brother and I to a place named ‘Source Club,’ kinda like a Sam’s Club or Costco. I remember walking down these isles that had all sorts of game consoles setup and there was the Super Nintendo, in it’s grey and purple buttons. We were also allowed a big bulk candy purchase where I got some crazy bubble gum. My brother and I just sat there wowed by the colors of Super Mario World, chewing and endless supply of gum.
I still have our original console, and it’s looking pretty rough these days, but that sucker still works! Funny, I went through 4 Xbox 360 consoles (Red Ring of Death, Open Tray error, etc), but my old Super Nintendo from 1992? Still works like a beast.
