If you’re wondering when and where face masks in Waterloo, here’s what’s going on as of this morning.
Yesterday, the Waterloo City Council voted a 6-1 mask mandate resolution.
What that means is that people are required to wear masks who can’t keep a social distance of 6 feet in public, which also includes businesses, city buildings, public transportation and ride sharing.
The mandate DOES NOT apply when people are alone or with household members or while in your personal vehicle.
Other exemptions include exercising, getting services that require temporarily removing the mask, and eating or drinking at businesses. Kids under 2-years old and people with certain medical conditions are also exempt.
