I love this album, like IN LOVE with this album.
In 1998, White Zombie disbanded…so what was lead singer Rob supposed to do? GO SOLO! Thus we got Rob Zombie and his debut solo album ‘Hellbilly Deluxe’ and man…what an amazing album.
This album defined so much for me when it came out…it was as I have mentioned plenty of times on Rock 108 ‘The Rockin’ 3.’ Korn’s Follow the Leader, Godsmack, and the crown jewel that is Hellbilly Deluxe. I was 10 years old, had a 13 year old brother and CLEARLY I wanted to be cool like him, so I had to listen to his music too! Rob Zombie was edgy, heavy, scary…and I loved it.
Songs like Dragula, Superbeast, Demonoid Phenomenon, just ughhh….so good. It’s one of the few albums I can listen to front to back.
I will always see Rob Zombie when he comes to town!
I better mention that at one point I did interview the man via phone!
