Hy-Vee is stepping it up for people in need from the derecho. They’ll be bringing 3 semi-trailers to the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids parking lot. The trailers will be full of products to give away on Thursday (Sept. 3) from Noon – 2:00 pm.
Hy-Vee, along with the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program will offer bottled water (around 42,000!), chicken breasts (13,000 pounds!), bread and snack crackers while supplies last. The total donation equals about $62,000!
