This morning in Independence, someone took the color of ‘John Deere Green’ and painted on the Water Tower (aka Red Hat) for all to see! Turns out some dude named Matt REALLY loves Rebecca as the Independence Van Gogh has painted ‘Matt Loves Rebecca’ on the Independence water tower.

Could it possibly be a tribute to the 1993 Joe Diffie song ‘John Deere Green?’ The lyrics do state…
One July in the midnight hour
They climbed upon the water tower
Stood on the rail and painted a ten foot heart
In John Deere green, on a hot summer night
He wrote “Billy Bob loves Charlene” in letters three foot high
And the whole town said that he should’ve used red
But it looked good to Charlene
Huh…a mystery is afoot here…
