I thought it was just me that thought certain cereals don’t taste as good as they did in the ’80s. I remember Trix being much more flavorful, and the pieces were way bigger. Same with Cocoa Puffs. Well, I was naive to think that I was the only one who thought that.
General Mills has basically admitted their cereals DON’T taste as good as they used to since they got rid of artificial flavors and extra sugar. So they’re permanently bringing back the, “’80s taste” of four brands: Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Golden Grahams, and Cookie Crisp. All four “retro recipes” are hitting stores now!
Trix will come in it’s classic fruit shapes. Cocoa Puffs and Cookie Crisp will have a stronger chocolate flavor and Golden Grahams will be made with actual honey.
I’m excited about this! I LOVE cereal as a meal other than breakfast. Also, I’m anxious to see if General Mills got the flavor right that I remember eating as a kid.
