24 Hour Livestream For Iowa Kids This Saturday…What It Takes to Setup!

By Ned Nov 4, 2020 | 12:42 PM

24 Hour livestream goes down THIS WEEKEND!

For the past 3 years, I have livestreamed video games to benefit the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, and we’re doing it all again THIS SATURDAY starting at 9AM CST! My goal this year is to raise $4000….a big goal I know, but I am feeling good about it.

But what does it take to setup this whole thing? You’d think it was just a game console, wires, and microphone right? Well…not so much.

I basically build a ‘streaming center’ which will handle 24 hours of entertainment. Comfort is a must, but also a quality looking stream it just as important. After all, YOU are the one who is watching and donating…the last thing I need is a crappy looking stream right? So here is the list of what I setup for this thing.

  • 2 Computer Monitors
  • Streaming PC
  • 5 Ethernet Cables
  • N+ Wireless Router
  • 2 Studio LED Lights
  • Elgato Capture card
  • Elgato Stream Deck
  • 5 HDMI Cables
  • Mic Processor
  • Mic Interface
  • 2 Mics
  • 2 XLR Cables
  • 2 Mic stands
  • 2 Large screen TV’s
  • CRTV
  • VCR w/ VHS Tapes a’plenty
  • 3 Power Strips
  • SNES
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Xbox One
  • PS4
  • Sega Genesis
  • Couch
  • 4 Charging Cables
  • Coffee
  • A lot of patience and coordination

Looks like quite a bit right? Cause it is! I can easily just use my current setup, but if I’m gonna be rolling for 24 hours? I gotta get in gamer mode!

See you this Saturday!
