Here we go again.
With the big surge of rising COVID-19 cases, Iowa hospitals are really starting to get run over with COVID hospitalizations.
So much so that if you have an elective procedure coming up, Mercy Medical Center and UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital have jointly announced their officials have begun reducing surgical cases that require a hospital stay, and this will continue until November 20th.
You can read the full story from The Gazette here.
As you read above, this will only be until November 20th, but if cases keep rising…I assume the delay in elective procedures will go longer.
My mother was affected by this back in Michigan when she had to have her knee surgery done, but when COVID started rising earlier this year it was delayed.
