What once was, is back again.
When I moved here a tad over 5 years ago, co-workers would always tell me about this vacant restaurant in downtown Waterloo that was right next to the radio station. I always thought it was a pretty good location for a good restaurant, like a pizza joint….turns out I was right as previously the building housed a town favorite Doughy Joey’s Peetza Joint.
However before I got here, they vacated the building and moved out to Cedar Falls. Since then, the CF location has been torn down and the owners have been looking for another place to bake some Za.
Announced yesterday on their Facebook page, Doughy Joey’s will be returning to it’s former home in downtown Waterloo!
I have walked by that vacant building hundreds of times, so it’s cool to see it be brought back to it’s former glory…and it’s great for the city too!
