A 42-year-old dude from Michigan sued his parents after they tossed out what a judge called “a trove of pornography and an array of sex toys.”
The dude moved into his parents’ home in late 2016 after a divorce for a bit, then he moved to Indiana. He expected them to deliver his stuff. He later realized that a dozen boxes porn films and magazines were missing.
His father said in an email: “Frankly, I did you a big favor getting rid of all this stuff.”
The parents said they had told their son when he moved in that he couldn’t bring pornography into their home or it would be destroyed. They also claimed he had abandoned the property when he moved out. (Truth is, they wouldn’t let him come back to get his stuff and said they would just ship to his new place.)
The parents kept some of the porn, which they said was the “worst of the worst,” and turned it over to the cops to see if was legal. Cops checked the porn out, and no charges were filed.
The judge ruled in favor of the son. He said: “In this case, the defendants repeatedly admitted that they destroyed the property, and they do not dispute that they destroyed the property.”
The son has to determine the total value of the collection and present that number in court in February so the judge can decide how much money his parents need to pay him. He’s saying it’s worth $25,000.
