Thanks to internet, magazines aren’t as big as they used to be.
Back in the day though, magazines were the only way we got news on our certain interest! Whether it be celebrity news, video games, movies, gossip, fashion, etc. The internet didn’t exist so we didn’t just get to read a blog about the latest movie trailer or whatever the latest entertainment news was.
Maybe somewhere in your house though, you have a stack of old magazines that you have just held onto for years, maybe you even forgot that you had them.
For me, old Nintendo Power, Game Informer, Retro Gamer, Guitar Player, still exists somewhere in my house. Going through one of them is like looking through a time capsule of a whole different generation. Looking at the ads in some of these magazines is also an experience….seeing what was popular at the time, or remember actually BUYING ringtones and typing in some weird number to get them?
Magazines are still prominent today, but not what they used to be. Heck when I was a kid, my Mom would let me roam the Magazine Aisle in the grocery store…cause yes, a WHOLE AISLE OF MAGAZINES did exist back in the day kids.
You can still head into a Hy-Vee and pickup their small selection of magazines….but if you want the big selection? Head into Barnes and Noble and you’ll see quite a vast selection…some of them even imported!
Before you toss out your magazine collection…look them up on eBay and see if anyone collects them, you MIGHT actually have something someone has been searching for.
