Thanks to the internet, a few of my childhood sugary favorites have made it back to store shelves!
Little did we know that legions of fans who loved food and drinks like Surge, French Toast Crunch, Crystal Pepsi, and Cookies & Cream Twix Bars all exist on the internet and have a voice. You bombard a corporation enough that discontinued your favorites, you promise them money, and they’ll sell it again, even for a limited time.
There are some snack like foods out there though that still have not had the ‘internet demand’ like those above products did…maybe you remember them, and maybe you don’t. But it’s likely your mouth may water a bit remembering them.
-Planter’s PB Crisp
It’s kinda weird to describe them, but it was like a light airy peanuts shaped crisp with peanut butter or chocolate in them. I would beg my mom to grab me a bag when we’d go to the grocery store and I would chomp down on them playing Super Nintendo or whatever. Anytime I mention them, no one seems to remember PB Crisp…but damn they were good.
-MAD Idiotic Fruity Candy
A candy based on a comedy magazine! Sounds kinda stupid…which was what MAD was all about…but these odd candies were nothing super special looking, but for some reason they tasted really good. Plus they came with a little MAD comic strip in each box!
-Hershey’s S’Mores Bar
How is this NOT still available? With all the Smores related stuff you can get on shelves these days, why hasn’t Hershey’s re-released this glory? It’s a to-go Smore anywhere…it’s delicious.
-Altoids Sours
Altoids are pretty well known for freshening your breath, but for a time they were releasing these tasty little sour candies that came in I think Strawberry and Tangerine. All they did was quench your sweet tooth for a bit, but as a kid you looked bad ass as hell breaking out your tiny tin of candies acting like you were tossing back some chew.
-Life Savers Creme Savers
Again, why is this not around anymore? These things were the bomb man! The best flavor was the strawberry and creme clearly, but you could easily walk around with a pocket full of these things and be better off in life everyday.
