Every once in awhile, this artist named Poppy…POPS up in my news feed.
Today, known magazine Revolver, known for their hard edge rock appeal and home of the Revolver Golden God awards have nominated the first ever Female Solo Artist for ‘Best Metal Performance’ and her name?
‘Poppy’
Who…the hell….is Poppy? I have heard of her before and how she has done some stuff with different artist in the metal genre, so I did a little bit of a dive and let’s just say…it’s interesting. The first one I’ll show you is her song named ‘X’ which is just a mish mash of musical styles that when you listen to it all the way though, even your mind may melt a bit.
AND THEN…she has songs like this…
I mean, crazy right? Talk about a diversified sound.
The award is being given a ‘Best Metal Performance’…so before you freak out, ANYONE who does a ‘Metal Performance’ can be nominated, it’s not for ‘Best Metal ARTIST.’
This right now, may be one of the more interesting things in hard rock music currently that’s for sure.
