22 years ago, Silent Hill for the original Playstation was released, and to this day? It’s still the scariest game that I have played.
While there have been a good amount of games that have scared me since, something about the original Silent Hill still freaks me out to this day! I have to kinda mentally prepare myself to pop that disc back into the Playstation, but when I get hooked…I get hooked. This is the PERFECT game to play late at night and no lights on.
The creators of that game knew exactly what they were doing with the imagery, lack of music, and of course the fog that everyone seems to reference all of the time! Seriously, anytime it gets foggy outside, I instantly say…
“It’s all Silent Hill out there.”
The franchise sadly has fallen hard to the ground, and was going to be rebooted with the Playstation 4 game ‘Silent Hills’…but for some reason, even that fell flat.
The first (and even the second) are really fantastic games…but the first really stands out cause it hasn’t really received a good reboot or remaster! (aside from Shattered Memories).
