Bands didn’t always start out with the name that made them famous. A lot of them had some pretty interesting names before changing them. Here’s some examples. (My favorite original band name would be ‘Blood Fart’ for Limp Bizkit.)

5. Van Halen: Rat Salad. It’s actually the title of a Black Sabbath song.
6. Linkin Park: Xero
7. Finger Eleven: Rainbow Butt Monkeys
8. Nickelback: Village Idiot
9. Black Sabbath: Polka Tulk Blues Band
10. Green Day: Sweet Children
11. The Beastie Boys: The Young Aborigines
12. Pink Floyd: The Tea Set
13. Nirvana: Pen Cap Chew
