Do you take the time to get your 5 cents?

Before all the COVID fun, you could head to your local grocery store or bottle recycler, return your bags full of Busch Light cans and get a couple dollars or even some pocket change….5 cents each…not really much right?

So to you, is it even worth it? Do you even recycle? Once again, the .5 cent per bottle is up for debate in our great state.

Personally, I do…but I wish it was a little bit more. I grew up in Michigan, which is the only state with a bottle return cost of .10 cents! Meaning, an extra $1.20 is tagged onto your 12 pack…it may sound like a lot at first but man, when you dropped those back off at the grocery store, you could walk away with a good chunk of change off your grocery bill. I get it…you already PAID that up front, but getting it back is pretty awesome. I also feel they should be put on every container…not just soda.

I vote we keep the .5 cent bottle deposit…but it needs to be better though…I HATE going to the grocery store where I bought that can of Pepsi, JUST for the stupid machine to say ‘This Brand Not Accepted At This Store.’….I BOUGHT IT HERE!!! WHY?!?!?!?
