We live in a tech world! Everything is ready and brought you instantly! Uber Eats, streaming, Amazon, Grocery Delivery….it can all be done from your phone, and you no longer need to leave the safety of your house!
Ok…that’s great and all and I’m gonna sound like an old dude here, but I kinda miss those days the pre-tech world where we had to get up, get out, and get our things.
- Developing film and waiting for my pics to come back a week later.
- Using a pay phone to call someone and use 1-800-Collect
- AOL Instant Messenger and not texting
- Renting video games from Family Video & Blockbuster
- Only seeing movie trailers at the theater
- Buying concert tickets and not paying insane fees
- Having only 4 channels to choose from
- Rewinding my VHS tapes
- Burning a CD
- Recording a mix tape off the radio and them the damn DJ starts talking over the intro and outro
- Actually buying music
- Actually going to a store to buy a TV, phone, or whatever tech stuff
- Beepers, Pagers, and phones that are not smart
- The infancy of early internet
- Dial up sounds
- Owning an actual camera that is JUST a camera
- When cars were just steel and wheels
- Being a kid and being gone all day, then coming home when the street lights went on
I’m sure there are thousands of other things, but at that time….we didn’t realize how innocent the times were did we.
