The ‘Disney Voice Guy’ & Cedar Rapids Native Mark Elliot Has Died

By Ned Apr 6, 2021 | 12:06 PM

No longer coming soon theaters.

If you were growing up in the 70’s ALL the way to the mid-2000’s and watched a Disney trailer? You probably heard a voice saying ‘Coming soon to theaters!’ or ‘Our Feature Presentation!’

That voice was a man was named John Harrison Frick Jr., AKA Mark Elliot…and sadly he has passed away at the age of 81. Also I have to point out? He was born in Cedar Rapids, IA in 1939!

Now you’re probably thinking of the rough gruff voice of ‘IN A WORLD…’…No no no…different guy. This is the one that made you feel happy to watch something, a more KID friendly voice. As a guy who does voices, voice over, radio…I give a lot of respect to him. He really honed the craft of making you feel excited to watch a movie, or sell a movie trailer to you.

Have no idea who I am talking about? Here watch this.

Or how about this one?

Such a classic voice to be celebrated for years to come, what many that grew up in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s likely and fondly remember.

RIP Elliot.
