What’s something that’s kinda unknown about you?
I got asked the question today, ‘What is a fun fact about you Ned?’ I guess there are quite a few fun facts about me, but one I usually turn to is this one.
I am a trained singer.
That voice you hear everyday on Rock 108 was trained through choir, 3 years of private lessons, and competed in Solo Ensemble competitions for 2 years.
I had to learn how to site read, and if anyone knows how to read music? Singing it vs playing an instrument…not easy. I led bass in choir for 3 years, and could even hit baritone. Performed in musical theater in school, local theater and arts festivals, and provided vocals for a pop punk group and a bar band.
Nowadays I mostly sing in the car and when I get the opportunity to do karaoke, but that’s just me belting into microphones, having fun a putting on a show.
I miss singing a lot…but I just haven’t really pursued anything in it in awhile. Maybe someday the right thing will come along.
