Not sure why or when our taste buds change and tell us that NOW we love a certain food, when we used to hate it before.  What are those foods for you?

I brought that up during the morning show, and Brent in Solon sent this awesome story:

“Oysters CC!
Grandma put quarters in our soup and said if we wanted them we had to eat! Somehow I ALWAYS ate those quarters!!! 🤣
Luv um now!!”

For me it’s fish, tomatoes and cottage cheese.  Those three foods I used to despise growing up, but now I LOVE them.  I think the switch happened in my mid 30s?  As a kid, dad would take me and my brothers fishing a lot.  We’d bring our fish home, and I just remember how NASTY it smelled.  Dad would fry them up, and I would have no part of it.  Now, I love all kinds of fish, except shrimp.  I don’t like the texture of shrimp, but will eat it if it’s battered and fried.  Salmon is DEF my favorite!

I remember in grade school, we’d always get cottage cheese on our lunch trays.  Our teacher made us eat everything before we could leave, and I remember gagging every time I had to eat the cottage cheese.  Now, I buy at least 3 tubs of it every week!  I’ll eat it plain or with fruit.

As far as tomatoes go… I wouldn’t go near them!  I still won’t eat them by themselves, but love tomatoes on sandwiches and salads.

What foods did you used to hate, but now love?  When did the switch happen?
