Mall owner Washington Prime Group, owners of the Lindale Mall, filed for bankruptcy protection on Sunday after the pandemic forced it to close some of its roughly 100 shopping centers across the United States including Lindale for an admittedly shorter period of time, and businesses were unable to pay it rent.
The Company filed Sunday using Chapter-11 which will enable it to hopefully reorganize its debt and keep operating into the future.
