Someone ranked all 50 states according to how well they fit the “dad” stereotype by looking at stats on grilling, nerdy shoes, and dad joke popularity. Iowa came in at #1! Well, we are in the top 4 states anyway. AND the top 4 dad states all border each other: Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas.
I’m not surprised by these findings, because Midwest people are the best. I’m probably biased since I grew up in the Midwest, but still! Our family values are WAY better than other parts of the country. There’s just something about the Midwest that is more wholesome and old-school compared to other places, and I believe that brings out strong family values. So “Dad” it up fathers! It’s a good thing! Wear those New Balance sneakers with pride, keep on grilling that grub and telling those dad jokes.
