Am I am tired of thinking that it is not.
You know what Iowa doesn’t have? 7 Eleven….and that’s a bummer because us Iowans are missing out on the greatness that is? Slurpee’s.
When I was a kid, my friends and I would walk over to 7 Eleven, get beef sticks and the largest damn Slurpee we could hold in our hands. There was always 2 machines with a BIG variety of flavors, and usually one exclusive flavor…naturally Surge was my favorite, but you could never beat a good ol’ frozen Coca-Cola.
Here in Iowa though? No offense…all we have is ICEE’s, and you know what? It’s just not the same man. Mind you yes, Icee was around when I was a kid…but Slurpees were like…thicker I think and didn’t melt as fast and had a BIG VARIETY OF FLAVORS!
Icee? You get Coke, Mountain Dew, Cherry, and Blue Raspberry…and that’s all I have ever seen. Icee’s are seemingly lighter and melt the moment you walk out the damn door!
So the question, does Iowa have 7 Elevens? Kinda….there is a flurry of them in the Quad Cities according to their website…like, A BUNCH of them. Then when you leave the Quad Cities? There isn’t any for miles.
