Super Mario 64, the game that taught us how 3D games would be played for the rest of our lives is considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all time…but is it worth $1,560,000??? To someone it sure was.
On HeritageAuctions.com, a SEALED BRAND NEW copy of Super Mario 64 sold for an insane $1,560,000….but whhhhhyyyyyyy? The game was graded a near perfect 9.8 A++ from Wata, which gives collectibles like this one a full analysis and determines its worth. Making this certain copy of the 1996 classic quite possibly the most perfect copy in it’s existence.
But does that make it worth over a half a million dollars? In my opinion, hell to the freaking no.
I personally am not into the sealed copies of video games thing…video games are meant to be played and have fun with. Plus, this game in its lifetime sold 12 million copies on its initial run in 1996…so there are PLENTY of them out there, meaning somewhere out there, there is another like it.
Spending 1.5 Million on it? Makes little to no sense to me…but hey, it’s your money, do what the hell you want I guess.
