What is your favorite video game console?
In a world of Xbox, Playstation, Switch, PC, etc etc….which is your favorite console? For me, it is really no contest…the Super Nintendo, released this day all the way back in 1991.
The majority of my favorite games are on this thing, you know what? Just gonna list them.
- Super Mario RPG
- Super Mario World
- Earthworm Jim
- Mortal Kombat 2
- Star Fox
- Mega Man X
- Final Fantasy 3 (6)
- Super Metroid
- Pilotwings
- Saturday Night Slam Masters
- Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, 3
- and the list….goes….on
I mean, it is just loaded with classics that I still play to this day. Even when Nintendo announced the SNES Mini? Don’t care…had to have it.
The SNES is the pinnacle of nostalgia for me (with NES following really close behind). It was during that time I was in grade school and there was just NOTHING better. Every weekend my parents would take me to Blockbuster or Family Video, rent a game, and that was my weekend. TO THIS DAY…I still have my original SNES console…it’s like it became a material family member. Anytime friends come over? I think of a reason to plug in the SNES.
While many consoles look aged graphics wise (N64, Playstation, Sega Saturn, and even the NES) The SNES holds up gameplay and graphic wise…it was that time we went from blocky to smooth. Put Mega Man X next to original Mega Man and tell me which one still looks awesome today (well both, but you get my drift).
30 years of playing with power….Super Power.
