I have mentioned these 2 albums plenty of times on the air.
Rob Zombie ‘Hellbilly Deluxe’ and Godsmack.
These 2 albums little did I know at the time, DEFINED where my direction in music was going to go, and 23 years ago today, they were released ON THE SAME DAY!
If I had to pick my favorite of the two, it easily goes to Rob Zombie. He’s just the embodiment of everything I love in a rock star….performer, love for subject matter, and his music rules. Crazy to think it’s been 23 years!
My brother is credited with buying these two albums, and I remember that I would go into the basement stereo system to listen to the albums. However, they were my big brothers….so you know…I’d have to sneak into his room in order to listen to them!
Dragula to this day is still I feel one of the best rock/metal songs ever written. It has groove, hooky chorus, and it just plain rocks! Godsmack’s ‘Whatever’ is just a classic that you will STILL hear on any kind of rock radio station today.
Those two albums man, just epic.
