Going to McD’s as a kid was a treat.
Mind you, this was before digital boards, curbside service, and whatever computers that basically operate McDonald’s these days. Back then? It was as board with letters on it and a nearly impossible speaker to bark your order in. Since then, all McD’s have converted to the 21st Century as they should.
But in Adak Island, Alaska…sits an abandoned McDonald’s, that has been closed since probably 1994…and it’s never changed since. How do you know it’s been since the 90’s? The old menu board outside.
In the pic below, you’ll see whatever McD’s promotion was going on at the time…which is? Jurassic Park from 1993! If you were getting a Happy Meal? You got a Bobby’s World toy!
I love this kind of stuff…especially if it falls in my lifetime. Abandoned stuff is awesome, and it’s an odd feeling to see something so ‘old’ looking from my lifetime. I imagine that will only get worse right?
Abandoned McDonald’s on remote Alaskan island still has the menu up with Bobby’s World and Jurassic Park promos. pic.twitter.com/SbtMlKAkXJ
