One of my favorite video games of all time, is not your typical big game.
Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy….all juggernaut video games…but truthfully one of my top 10 games ever? Wave Race 64 for the Nintendo 64.
But why? It’s just a racing game on Jet Skis….well, read that one more time…A RACING GAME ON JET SKIS! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! 25 years ago, I was an impressionable 9 year old, so of course I loved it. The fun thing about this one was is that I had never played it until I actually got the game….this was during the time of no demos, no internet, and you MIGHT be lucky to see some gameplay on a TV commercial! Hell, even when we rented a Nintendo 64 from Family Video….they were OUT of this game to rent with it!
Then one birthday later, I got it…and fell in love with it. Funny thing though is that it inspired me to want to ride a Jet Ski, which I never did until my honeymoon in Jamaica in 2013. All thanks to Wave Race!
