The last console that I looked at with childhood wonderment.

The awesomeness that is the Nintendo 64 has crossed over to 25 years old, all the way from 1996. To this day, I still love the thing. When I say it was the last console I looked at with childhood wonderment? I really do, cause after this one came out…I was then a teenager and video games just kinda surfed out of my life for a bit. Hence my centerpiece of my tattoo where there is a kid sitting in front of a TV with an N64 logo on it, it’s where the kid Ned stopped and adult Ned began.

N64 also houses my favorite game ever, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time…I had NEVER wanted a video game more than Ocarina, and when I got it that Christmas? You may as well have handed me the keys to heaven. Games like WaveRace 64, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 007…the list just goes on.

That era of gaming was truly the wild west of gaming…we transitioned from 2D to 3D, and as gamers….we looked in awe and saw the future. You look at it now and think, ‘Wow, that’s blocky as hell.’ Back in 1996 though? Nothing was better.
