Still one of my favorite games ever.
Video games come and go, but the DOOM series has always been one of my favorite. When a new DOOM game is mentioned? I’m all like ‘Oh hellz yea dude!’ But where did that all start? 1994…at my Aunt’s house.
You know when Mom and Dad won’t let you play violent video games or watch Rated-R movies? Well, thanks to my Aunt who had fun with her nephews…allowed me to play this uber violent video game on a computer named DOOM 2. Mind you, I had played Mortal Kombat and stuff on console…but NOTHING like DOOM!
This thing called a First Person Shooter was so new to me…I was used to 2D gaming, but this was effin’ 3D dude! It looked real, and I couldn’t get enough of it. Little did my Aunt know at the time when she was typing in C:>Run_doom2 into MS-DOS….she started a 27 year love for a game series.
I still play it to this day, and have a blast figuring out the puzzles, humping every wall, and finding secrets….to this day? Single Barrel Shotgun is still my preferred weapon.
