Online listening to Rock 108 is a different experience than over the air. It’s a great choice if you live on the fringes of our signal which is subject to interference and other reception problems. It’s great if you travel a lot because you’ll never lose your favorite station, or work in a building that radio just can’t penetrate.
Another benefit of on-line listening is a more exclusive advertiser base; so you’ll hear fewer commercials. Because of this we have to fill those breaks with other content and we think our commercial fill makes for a pretty great listening experience. On line you’ll hear little bits of comedy, different music cuts, and an ongoing feature of new music that hasn’t made it to the “Big Stick” yet.
Sometimes when the computer can’t find fill items or just goes wonky (as computers sometimes do) there used to be items called “Safety Fill” this was horrendous sounding “elevator music” and a “twangy country guitar that stuck out like a sore thumb. Well, we’ve been working with the stream providers and have managed to come up with some safety-fill that sounds more like rock 108; so much so, you might not even notice is and if you do, it’s certainly not as objectionable.
