The console that many doubted originally, but ended up redefining home gaming.

The big ol’ black heavy box with a green tint, the Xbox is officially 20 years old and if you are my age (34)? You likely remember it, but also at the time of it’s release thought, ‘Yea that won’t last.’ Man was I wrong…

I’ve mentioned plenty of times that I kind of fell out of gaming around this time cause of girls and whatnot. However my friends latched onto it hard, specifically Kyle. He got his Xbox at a pawn shop which you’re probably like ‘Ned, why are you telling me that?’ Well, since he got it there…the Pawn Shop used it as their music machine, cause the Xbox had a hard drive in it which was mind blowing for its time!

He took that music and put it into a playlist named ‘Pawn Shop Rock’…and it had music like the Gorillaz in it. Since then it’s always been fun to mention it when we’re hanging out, thanks to a pawn shop Xbox.

Also? I am one of the fortunate ones that was able to witness 4 Xbox’s networked together with 16 controllers, 4 tube TV’s, and 16 people playing Team Slayer on Blood Gulch….can you imagine how damn amazing that was? NO INTERNET, NO CHAT, NO LAG ISSUES….just 16 friends having a damn blast.

I miss those times.
