It’s pretty rare for me to get time to watch actual television shows these days.

But, when I get the opportunity? It’s after Lily is put to bed and my wife and I get those brief moments before WE have to go to bed to get whatever sleep we can before either the morning shows up or Lily just feels like waking up for whatever reason.

There are a few shows that that Katie and I take the time to watch, and if you are looking for something? Here are some good ones.

  • Cobra Kai

Season 4 just dropped on NetFlix, and if you have no idea what the Karate Kid movies are? Give them a quick watch before you jump into this series. It’s funny, engaging, and William Zabka who plays Johnny is just fantastic. It’s no wonder this show is getting renewed for a 6th season. Funny thing is I wrote this show off at first cause it seemed like…kinda dumb? The movies are pure 1980’s and lend themselves to just be written off, but the show really brings it all around and leaves you wondering, ‘Yea, what would happen to those kids in those 1980’s movies?”

  • The Book of Boba Fett/The Mandalorian

I rope these two together, but Book of Boba Fett is the newest one which I watched the first episode last night! If you are not a Star Wars fan, you’ll probably not enjoy this one too much, but director Jon Favreau is doing his best to seemingly save the Star Wars fandom, and doing quite well at it! It’s just cool to see these characters outside of the ‘Skywalker Family’ and it’s working very well.

  • Only Murders in the Building

Now I’ve only watched the first couple episodes of this show, but only cause of the timing and those other shows keep getting in my way! But from what I have watched, it’s a great mystery show of ‘Who dunnit?’ kinda thing. More and more of the mystery of who got murdered in the building shows up in each episode. Plus the chemistry of Steve Martin and Martin Short is something to always enjoy.

  • The Rookie

Thanks to my wife, I became a Nathan Fillion fan and police dramas kinda come and go. Something about The Rookie though is a fun watch! A lot of stuff catches you off guard, and as the seasons go on? Fillions character John Nolan becomes more and more of a badass instead of an aged old rookie cop looking for his second chance after a messy divorce.

  • What We Do in the Shadows

Vampires trying to live in modern times with a crew documenting it all seems like a weird idea, but it’s the main characters that absolutely sell this show. It did take me a couple of episodes to get into, but once you do? It’s hilarious…just make sure you have enough creepy paper….crepe paper.
