I’m still kinda irked by my story about this…
If you play video games like I do, then you probably have played the legendary Super Mario Bros. 3 on the original NES. To this day, it is a NEAR perfect game and when it released 32 years ago…seemingly time stopped as we ALL had to play this game!
32 years ago, I was 3 years old…and for some odd reason, I remember wanting to play this game pretty badly! Saw the commercials, the McDonalds toys, etc….but never got to try the game when it was new! My parents would take me to the rental store named ‘Video Tyme’ in Michigan and EVERY…SINGLE….TIME…the game was rented out! I COULD NEVER TRY IT!
Until it was rereleased on Super Nintendo as Super Mario All-Stars, THEN I was able to try it.
Mind you, this was during a time when you rented a video game? They had just ONE copy….video games, even in 199X were still around $50 to $60…so your hometown shop could really only afford one.
