22 years ago, Disturbed released and album that would end up creating what I like to call ‘The sound of the 2000’s.’ In 2000, I was a freshman in high school, listening to KISS on my portable Phillip’s CD player, and a friend of mine named Justin was just jamming this CD named ‘Down with the Sickness’….it was a black CD with this creepy looking drawings.
I didn’t first hear it until we went to his house and popped it into his CD player, and oddly enough? I didn’t become and instant fan…it wasn’t until 2002’s ‘Believe’ that I became a super fan.
Songs like The Game, Voices, Stupify, and of course Down with the Sickness defined not only the album? But that generation of music too.
