Stop working so much.
I have a tendency to do this, especially in radio…but once I had the kid? I have calmed down on it quite a bit. But at your job…do you take home, homework? Or do stuff for your job OUTSIDE of your normal business hours?
A new study at Cornell found that working outside your normal schedule, can lead you to HATING your job!
One example of this is checking your work email and responding to them, or adding extra hours to your day, especially if you can’t come in the next day later.
Yes, even in radio…can be ‘a bit.’ I do have a fun job, but even when I get home…I don’t want to hear the station…I want to live in the moment of doing house work, playing with my daughter, watching a show with my wife, or doing ANYTHING that isn’t radio. Hence why I have never connected my phone to my work email. However, I STILL do social media stuff for Rock 108, but I kinda find that fun.
Long story short…when you are not at work? Live your life.
