Move aside Terrible 2’s….
As a new Dad seeing Lily grow more and more every single day…she is already started the reign of terror known as the word ‘No.’ She will let you know when she does not want to do something….to which naturally? I return with ‘nah ah kid,’ you ain’t winning this battle.
However I have plenty of parents that have told me 2 is the worst age, or 3 is the worst…but none of them are old enough to have a teenager yet…and in a poll of over 1000 parents? They have confirmed that AGE 15 is the WORST YEAR to deal with your kid.
Why though? Here are some of the reasons.
- Dealing with mood swings
- Helping make important life choices like College
- Allowing them to make mistakes
- Spending WAY TOO MUCH TIME on technology
- Help manage their emotions
- Dealing with….ughh…hormones
- Helping with Homework
- Trusting them to make good decisions
- Helping plan their future
- Worrying about grades
Also in there is body image, bullying, dating, and social media pressures.
Having a kid now is gonna be interesting….me growing up I didn’t have things like social media until I was in college. Now though? That’s a whole ‘nother ball game.
I have a ways until Lily is 15…but the way she is growing? It’ll basically be here tomorrow.
