Animated movies are always my jam, especially newer ones.
One that I gravitated towards though? The new ‘Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers’ movie on Disney +. At first I expected it to be your typical kids movie…fluffy yadda yadda characters on an adventure that I could watch with my kid….but when I booted it up?
It is not necessarily a kids movie, but a kids movie for adults.
It is FULL of Easter Eggs and references surrounded by a team up story that is well paced that anyone that grew up in the late 80’s through 90’s will get nearly everything that it thrown in your face. A cast featuring Andy Samberg, John Mulany, Will Arnett, Seth Rogan, JK Simmons really brings out the characters and it’s just a fun watch and keeps you wondering ‘Ok, what am I gonna see next?’
I mean, I’m watching this movie when suddenly they are talking about Shrek shampoo??? Then as Chip and Dale are going through a scene then randomly Randy Marsh of South Park shows up? It’s like WHAT??? How did Disney get this made? It seems really left field out for them.
It’s a fun watch, and I’d check it out if I were you.
