Ok for real, probably not…but it is interesting to see where it is now right? This weekend, Pantera returned to the stage for the first time in 20+ years with Zakk Wylde on guitar, Charlie Bentante on drums, and Phil & Rex in their respective areas. It was surreal to say…that I can indeed, see Pantera LIVE in 2022…and yes I am aware, it is not the ORIGINAL Pantera…I get it.
What’s funny though is that 10 years ago, I chatted with Phil for the first time ever over the phone and full on asked him ‘If there was to ever be a Pantera reunion, would you see Zakk Wylde on guitar as the fill in for the late Dimebag Darrell?’
His reply was basically, ‘I’m not to sold on idea on Zakk on guitar cause we have some stuff we have to hash out too.’
Fast forward 10 years later, and look where we are…Zakk on guitar. This little interview of mine as far as I know was the first time Phil really commented on Zakk being on guitar…and at that time? It really blew up….posted on all sorts of news outlets, garnered thousands of views, and interviewers after all went after Vinnie, Zakk, and Rex asking them about Phil’s comment.
So yea, all I am asking for is a Producer’s Credit for you know….starting this whole thing 10 years ago.
Not really….ok….maybe a backstage pass or something…no? Ok maybe free parking to show….not that either huh?
