25 years ago?
25 years ago, my 2nd favorite video game of all time was released…Resident Evil 2 on Playstation. I have mentioned hundreds of times what my favorite video game is (Zelda Ocarina…you know by now) But this one hangs on me every single time I talk about video games…which is frequently.
The kinda cool thing about it is that this game always felt like my alter ego in a way…Zelda was the bright colorful sword slashing save the princess game…while RE2 was that blood soaked zombie shooting fest. 2 seperate types of games entirely!
Fast forward to years later, this game got one of the greatest re-makes of all time for current gen consoles. I also gave it the HIGHEST spot on my favorite Playstation 4 games…hell…I even re-bought it on Xbox Series X so I could play on newer hardware. Just something about the characters, setting, and such that keep me coming back for more. With the remake, if you bought the Digital Deluxe edition? You could enable the soundtrack swap where it played the 1998 soundtrack over the new game….which is the only way I’ll play it.
25 years of surviving the RPD, and it’s still a blast to play today.
