A Quick Spoiler Free Review Of ‘The Flash’

Been a minute since I have done one of these!

It is quite the difficulty to get to the movie theater these days! With 2 kids and a schedule, how the hell do you fit in a movie? It’s can be quite difficult and pricey! So my quick reviews will no longer be very frequent, but when do I them? You’ll see ’em.

That being said, I was suprised last night with friends and wife to see the latest movie ‘The Flash.’ A movie that fans have been waiting and waiting for as this movie has been FINISHED for well over a year, but due to the Pandemic (remember that?) it kept getting delayed and delayed, but also because of Ezra Miller’s oddness and the restructuring of DC and WB. Let’s just say, it’s been a long time coming and finally we get to see this movie that we have been waiting for forever….so was it worth the wait?

My quick review….A right into the action, decent storyline, with heavy nostalgia and moments of annoyance and BAD CGI.

I do not know much about the Flash, JUST what I have seen on the screen. But this movie is based around a Flash comic where Barry Allen can run so damn fast that he can alter timelines, which eventually he does dip into THE MULTIVERSE! So basically DC pulls a Spider-Man Far From Home here where we see the long awaited return of Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman! Let’s face it, he is the best part of this movie. Ezra does a great Flash, but when you meet ‘young Barry?’ You want to punch the screen because of this laugh that he does….it’s funny maybe the first time? But gooooooood do I need to hear that laugh again???

One thing that DC movies seem to have is the darkness of each film….everything seems to be a ‘greyscale’ which is likely intentional as DC comics usually are! I always feel like it kinda hinders it though….DC is the dark brooding brother of Marvel, set more in realism then Iron Man and Thor, I GET IT! But could you turn up the contrast on the screen a bit? Probably get some hate for that.

Overall though there were some parts that were oddly paced, but it was a very enjoyable movie! I had a good time seeing Batman, Supergirl, and Flash…and lemme tell ya, seeing the Batwing measure up to the moon and Batman flying down with the Elfman theme playing may be one of the greatest moments in current DC history….that was goosebumps.

It’s really hard not to spoil some things in this review, but there are gonna be moments where you slap your knee with a grin saying ‘Ha ha that’s awesome.’ But you might want to polish up on your DC which actors portrayed who….that’s all I will say.

I had a good time, it’s worth a view.
