Today is that day.

If you’re old enough, you too well remember the events of the day Sept. 11, 2001….I know I sure did, I was a Freshman in High School, so I remember them quite vividly. I have always wanted to visit the ‘9/11’ Museum and Memorial in New York to not only pay respects but also bring in the vastness of that day. But I can’t just get up and drive to New York….

However here in Iowa? There are 2 memorials that were erected to pay respects to the victims of that day. One of them in Cedar Rapids and another in Knoxville! Both of them are living memorials

  • One is the ‘Freedom Trees Veterans Memorial Stadium’ at 950 Rockford Rd SW in Cedar Rapids….which is where the Cedar Rapids Kernals play! CLICK HERE for info.
  • Another is the ‘Knoxville Freedom Trees Memorial’ which is located at 1811 West Madison in Knoxville, IA. CLICK HERE for info.

If you can, take some time to visit, otherwise just keep remembering the events that took place so long ago.
