Rockers Unite for a cause in Eastern Iowa. Six years ago, Rock 108 partnered with a small but mighty local nonprofit, The Iowa Giving Crew, to help launch their heartfelt mission: Operation Give Birds. What started as a passion project among college friends—putting Thanksgiving meals on the tables of families in need—has exploded into a powerful movement. Today, Operation Give Birds provides complete Thanksgiving dinners across Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo/Cedar Falls, and Dubuque.
In our second year, local horror rockers Grave Corps brought us an idea that turned into a tradition: a Halloween party like no other, built to fuel this mission. That’s how Chaos for a Cause was born. Since then, local bands, Rock 108, and countless businesses have poured their hearts, time, and dollars into making it the premier charitable rock event in Eastern Iowa. Together, we’ve raised more each year than the last—topping $12,100 in 2024 alone! We encourage everyone to thank our sponsor/doners when you shop with them!
But this year, our fundraising is falling behind—and that’s something we simply cannot allow. Families are counting on us. For many, this meal is more than food; it’s dignity, it’s tradition, it’s hope at a time when they need it most.
