It’s the time of the year again!
Boom, crash, explosions, etc…fireworks are awesome.
However, not EVERY county is up for a day of explosions as each one has rules! So, WHERE can you legally light fireworks in Eastern Iowa?
Our friends at KWWL has listed below some of the major cities and counties with their rules. They also provide where you can see the BIG shows by CLICKING HERE. Check out the list below.
Belle Plaine- Usage of fireworks within city limits without a permit is prohibited.
Cedar Falls- Usage of fireworks within city limits is prohibited.
Cedar Rapids- Usage of fireworks within city limits is prohibited.
Dubuque– Usage of fireworks within city limits is prohibited.
Iowa City- Usage of fireworks within city limits is prohibited.
Independence- Usage of fireworks within city limits is prohibited.
Johnson County (unincorporated) – A permit is required for areas of the county that don’t lie within city limits.
Linn County (unincorporated) – Fireworks are allowed only 9 AM – 11 PM July 4 for areas of the county that don’t lie within city limits.
Marion– Fireworks are allowed only July 4 from 12 PM – 11 PM.
Marquette- Usage of fireworks within city limits without a permit is prohibited.
Shell Rock– Fireworks are allowed on July 3 and 4 from 9 AM to 11 PM but not on city property.
Waterloo – The city of Waterloo has recently enacted a zero-tolerance policy for the use of fireworks outside of the 3, 4 or 5 of July. However, legal usage of fireworks may occur between noon to 11 PM on July 4 and from noon to 10 PM on both July 3 and July 5.
