Boy this party really died.
As a movie aficionado…or just a dude who likes movies, my 2 favorite genres are horror and comedy, comedy probably over horror though. I like to laugh dammit…shut up.
Movie like Spaceballs, Ghostbusters, Jackass, you name it…I just like a good comedy. There are some good ones today, but nothing like the classics from the 70’s and 80’s, and some sprinkles from the 90’s…but what is my favorite comedy of all time? Easy…
1994’s Dumb and Dumber.
I can quote it and watch it 3 trillion times and still laugh at its…dumbness. Keep in mind, I grew up during the Beavis & Butt-Head, Homer Simpson, and In Living Color era….larger than life characters with a certain stupidity and shout it out loud personalities, and Dumb and Dumber was all of that shoved into my face.
My friend Kyle and I at some point are gonna do a road trip from Providence, RI to Aspen, CO at some point JUST to simulate the road trip. While many will write it off as ‘It’s just a stupid movie!’ Well truthfully, you gotta be pretty smart to write stupid, and make all of the jokes work. It’s well acted, believable, and timeless.
Now I will warn you…there is an OK prequel and a just GOD AWFUL sequel and a subpar directors cut…see none of those…go straight theatrical cut of this film.
