Growing up in the Midwest, I thought all the casseroles and meat we consumed was the norm everywhere. It wasn’t until I moved to the West Coast that I realized that not everyone eats as hearty as we do.

When I think of a Midwest meal and what it should have, meat and potatoes always comes to mind… and a veggie. Very simple and hearty. Casseroles are my favorite by far, because all the food is in one place! The most common casserole growing up for me was tater-tot casserole. If you went to a potluck, you could always count on that casserole to be there. My favorite casserole is spaghetti pie! Green bean casserole is also super popular here. So in your opinion what makes a meal a Midwest meal??
