Wow.
After seemingly years of waiting, I finally found some time to get to the theater and see what all the hubbub was about. When a Marvel movie hits the theater, it is in event at this point, don’t you think? Like, everyone flocks to these things to see what will happen next in the MCU. It’s no secret that Spider-Man is easily the most popular Super Hero out there, and the hype of this movie was pushed to a boil! The rumor that ALL the of the film Spider-Man’s will make it to the screen with an epic battle of Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard, Electro? I mean…THERE IS A LOT here! How can a movie of this caliber be able to handle something this huge? This ambitious? Did this movie live to the insane amount of hype? My quick review…

I grew up seeing the Webslingers first BIG movie on the silver screen, as I am sure many of us probably did…so seeing Willem Dafoe as Goblin, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock again…it’s really something to see, and shocks you RIGHT back to those mid-2000’s where Spider-Man REALLY gained traction. I say this to kinda give you the ‘tone’ that you might expect here…
The film takes off RIGHT where the other ended and takes its time…if you have read my other reviews, you’d know that PACING is so damn important….DON’T THROW A TON OF CRAP AT ME! This movie, does extremely well keeping things at a ‘keep up’ pace. I knew EXACTLY what was going on at all times, which helped me process the fact that all of these villain’s that I grew to love over the years were back on the big screen.
You know who steals the show? Willem Dafoe….mother of God, he looks like he is a having a damn blast doing this role again. So much so that if you didn’t know, Dafoe told producers that we would not return as Goblin if he wasn’t allowed to do all the action scenes himself….and damn does it show! Anytime he is on the screen, you are GLUED to it.
It’s INCREDIBLY hard to not spoil this movie, and I promise I won’t, but there are some scenes that are amazing fan service, and it works so well that you can’t help but laugh and think ‘Holy crap, this is insane that this is happening right now and I can’t help but enjoy every moment that is happening right now.’
People in the packed theater were so happy at some moments to see what was going on, cheering and clapping occurred….and it was so cool to hear and see! THIS is what you go to the theater for! If I was just at home in the comfort of my own couch? I wouldn’t get that excitement of over 100 Spidey Fans sitting in the same room getting excited for the same parts….and you could just FEEL that in the theater.
If you are a Spider Fan? You ABSOULUTLY CANNOT MISS THIS MOVIE….you will be doing yourself a disservice if you do! DO NOT WAIT for it to come to streaming or blu-ray…this 3rd Spider movie is quite possibly one of the BEST movies in the MCU and what Spider-Man has been building up to all this time.
Go…now….get tickets….WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?
