We all know that when you say you’re fine….you’re not.
OH man…..the amount of times that I have said that I am FINE, can probably be in the zillions. But if we aren’t really FINE? Then what are we?
A new poll found that when someone askes how you’ve been, our go to answer is….’fine.’ Even though we know things really suck…70% of people usually say it as an auto-pilot answer, mainly because…you’re NOT FINE!
We also say we are ‘fine’ because we think the person who is asking is just being polite…which is nice, but we say ‘fine’ because we don’t want to come off as negative.
I know the MOMENT that my wife says ‘I’m fine.’ I know for a FACT…that she indeed, is not fine. But truthfully, I do the same thing.
