Easily one of the best 2000’s albums out there.
Shinedown has always been a hit maker. You turn on Rock 108, and you are pretty much guarenteed to hear a Shinedown song at some point…they just know how to rock. It hasn’t always been easy for Shinedown though, as their first couple of albums did well but internally the band was in turmoil. Drugs, alcoholism, and other issues really started kicking the band in the face….which then led to the album that many consider their career defining album!
Shinedown’s ‘The Sound of Madness’ is officially 12 years old….and man, what an album it is!
Songs like ‘Sound of Madness, Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide, Devour, Second Chance, If You Only Knew’…I mean the album is LOADED with hits and became a chart topper for many many weeks. You STILL hear songs from this album on Rock 108, people loved it. I was deep into my college career at the time this album was released, and I remember importing it to this cheap ass mP3 player I had that was powered by one AAA battery. I could only hold like 2 CD’s on it, and this was one of them.
